Message from the Reel Health IHSFF Director Anne Doherty
“Monash Health has developed the Reel Health International Short Film Festival, as contemporary representations of health in the media are often unrealistic. I have worked in the health industry for more than 35 years and I am still waiting to meet George Clooney in an emergency department. In my world, Dr House would be sacked, deregistered and probably imprisoned. In the real world, people with ill mental health are not serial killers and death is not glamorised. We want to give a voice to those who are associated with health and have a story to tell.” Film Festival Director and Monash Health Executive Director of Mental Health Anne Doherty.
The 2014 Reel Health short film festival finalists screening will be held on 6 November 2014, at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image in Federation Square, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
